Suta Goswami (narrating the instruction addressed to Dadhichi within the story)
It frames pūjā as the primary gateway to approaching Śiva as Pati—Devadeva who is worship-worthy even for Brahmā—thus establishing Linga-pūjā as a supreme, purifying act that aligns the pashu (soul) toward liberation.
Śiva is called Devadeva and Nirañjana—stainless and beyond taint—indicating a transcendent, purity-itself reality (Pati) untouched by pasha (bondage) and the defects of prakṛti.
The verse highlights sampūjā—complete, proper worship—implying disciplined pūjā-vidhi with inner and outer purity, a devotional foundation that supports Pāśupata-oriented ascent from pasha to Pati.
