FAQs

It functions as a phala-śruti: devotion aligned to Rudra’s ordinance (such as Linga-upāsanā and Shaiva vrata) culminates in attaining Rudra-loka, indicating Shiva’s grace as Pati who releases the pashu from pasha.

Shiva is implied as Rudra, the transcendent Lord whose realm is beyond ordinary cyclic return; reaching Rudra-loka signifies proximity to Shiva-tattva where bondage (pāśa) loses its power over the soul (paśu).

The verse emphasizes the fruit of Shaiva observance rather than detailing a specific rite; it supports Pāśupata-oriented discipline—steady devotion, purity, and worship that leads to Rudra’s abode and rare return to saṃsāra.
