FAQs

This verse does not directly define Ātman; it frames dharma through disciplined livelihood and purity of conduct, which the Purāṇa treats as supportive conditions for inner purification leading toward Self-knowledge.

No explicit meditation technique is stated; the emphasis is on niyama-like restraints—maintaining purity in one’s means of support and social dealings—often presented in the Kurma Purana as preparatory discipline that stabilizes the mind for Yoga and devotion.

It does not mention Śiva-Viṣṇu unity explicitly; it reflects the Purāṇa’s broader synthesis by presenting dharma as a shared foundation for devotional and yogic paths honored in both Śaiva (Pāśupata) and Vaiṣṇava frameworks.
