FAQs

This verse is primarily dharma-vidhi (ritual law), not direct ātma-tattva teaching; it stresses that right intention must be paired with right locus/authority (adhikāra), otherwise the act becomes ineffective.

No explicit yoga practice is taught here; the implied discipline is dharmic restraint (niyama)—performing rites with proper eligibility, place, and respect for boundaries, which supports inner purity required for higher sādhanā.

It does not directly address Shiva–Vishnu unity; it contributes to the Purana’s broader synthesis by grounding spiritual life in dharma (right conduct), which both Shaiva and Vaishnava paths uphold as the foundation for worship and liberation.
