इति श्रीकूर्मपुराणे षट्साहस्त्र्यां संहितायामुपरिविभागे पञ्चदशो ऽध्यायः व्यास उवाच न हिंस्यात् सर्वभूतानिनानृतं वावदेत् क्वचित् / नाहितं नाप्रियं वाक्यं न स्तेनः स्याद् कदाचन

ดังนี้ ในศรีกูรมปุราณะ สังหิตาหกพันโศลก ส่วนปลาย บทที่สิบห้าสิ้นสุดลง. ฤๅษีวยาสกล่าวว่า “อย่าทำร้ายสรรพสัตว์ใด ๆ อย่าเอ่ยคำเท็จไม่ว่าเมื่อใด อย่ากล่าววาจาที่ไม่เป็นประโยชน์ หรือวาจาที่ฟังไพเราะแต่ก่อโทษ และอย่าเป็นขโมยเป็นอันขาด”
