FAQs

It presents the Supreme as the single source of both creation and dissolution and as the all-pervading reality (Īśvara/Śiva), implying a transcendent yet immanent absolute that stands beyond limited conceptions of Brahman while pervading all.

The verse emphasizes bhakti-yoga through śaraṇāgati (taking refuge) and praṇāma (reverential surrender), a core orientation that supports Pāśupata-style discipline: centering the mind on Īśvara as the all-pervading ground of the cosmos.

By describing Śiva as the universal cause and all-pervading Īśvara, the verse aligns with the Kurma Purana’s synthesizing stance where supreme divinity is approached through shared attributes of sovereignty, immanence, and transcendence—supporting a non-sectarian, unity-focused reading.
