FAQs

This verse does not directly define Ātman; it emphasizes the preservation of liberating knowledge through an auspicious Purāṇic saṁhitā transmitted via the guru–śiṣya lineage, a key means by which teachings about Ātman and Īśvara are safeguarded and made accessible.

No specific yogic technique is named; the focus is on dhārmic pedagogy—propagating a merit-bearing Purāṇic compendium among qualified disciples—supporting the broader Kurma Purana framework where disciplined learning (śravaṇa/adhyayana) under a teacher prepares one for higher sādhana including Pāśupata-oriented devotion and contemplation.

The verse is about Purāṇic transmission rather than explicit theology; indirectly, it supports the Kurma Purana’s Shaiva–Vaishnava synthesis by stressing a single authoritative teaching-stream (saṁhitā) handed down to worthy disciples, within which unity-of-Īśvara themes are later articulated.
