Concept: At the crisis of death/after-death transit, the sinner cries for kin, yet speech fails—showing the futility of worldly reliance when karma ripens.

Primary Rasa: karuna

FAQs

It highlights the helplessness of the preta: intense attachment and grief remain, but the capacity to communicate is impaired, emphasizing why post-death rites and detachment are stressed.

It depicts an early preta-stage condition where consciousness clings to relatives and cries out, yet the subtle-body state makes speech unclear—showing a transition phase marked by confusion and suffering.

Cultivate detachment and complete duties toward elders and family while alive, and when a death occurs, perform prescribed rites (e.g., śrāddha/piṇḍa offerings) with sincerity to support the departed and steady the living.
