FAQs

This verse says that repeatedly hearing and chanting Lord Hari’s boundless glories purifies the self/heart—more essentially than purification sought through vows and external observances.

In the context of Ajāmila’s deliverance, Yamarāja instructs his messengers that devotion—especially hearing and chanting the Lord’s names and glories—places a person beyond their jurisdiction, because it powerfully purifies and reforms the soul.

Make a daily habit of listening to Bhagavatam or kīrtana and chanting the Lord’s names; consistent repetition (muhuḥ) steadily cleanses habits and brings clarity more effectively than only external self-discipline.
