Prahlāda Rejects Material Boons; Forgives His Father; Tripura and the Power of Remembrance
ya etat puṇyam ākhyānaṁ viṣṇor vīryopabṛṁhitam kīrtayec chraddhayā śrutvā karma-pāśair vimucyate
This verse states that faithfully hearing and then glorifying a sacred narration filled with Lord Viṣṇu’s heroic deeds releases one from the bonds of karma (karma-pāśa).
Because the verse presents śraddhā as the essential attitude that makes śravaṇa (hearing) and kīrtana (glorification) spiritually potent, leading to freedom from karmic bondage.
Regularly hear authentic Bhagavatam recitations or study, and share or chant its Viṣṇu-centered teachings with faith; this practice gradually loosens karmic conditioning and strengthens devotion.
