Having described the process of cultivating knowledge, the Lord now gives instructions to the yogī whose body may be disturbed by disease or other impediments. Those inferior yogīs who are attached to the body and bodily exercises are often incomplete in their realization, and thus the Lord here offers them some assistance.
This verse explains that an immature yogī may be hindered by bodily afflictions and impediments, and therefore a specific regulated remedy or method is prescribed to address such disturbances.
Kṛṣṇa is guiding Uddhava through practical stages of sādhana, acknowledging that beginners can be shaken by physical and mental disturbances, and He therefore teaches an appropriate, regulated approach to continue progress.
Recognize setbacks as common in early practice, respond with a disciplined method rather than discouragement, and adjust one’s routine to steadily continue devotion and inner practice despite bodily challenges.
