Daśa-lakṣaṇam: The Ten Topics, Virāṭ-Puruṣa Sense-Manifestation, and the Supreme Shelter (Āśraya)

योऽध्यात्मिकोऽयं पुरुष: सोऽसावेवाधिदैविक: । यस्तत्रोभयविच्छेद: पुरुषो ह्याधिभौतिक: ॥ ८ ॥

yo ’dhyātmiko ’yaṁ puruṣaḥ so ’sāv evādhidaivikaḥ yas tatrobhaya-vicchedaḥ puruṣo hy ādhibhautikaḥ

บุคคลผู้เป็นชีวะพร้อมด้วยเครื่องมือแห่งอินทรีย์ เรียกว่า “อัธยาตมิกะ ปุรุษะ”. เทพผู้กำกับอินทรีย์เรียกว่า “อธิไทวิกะ”. ส่วนรูปกายหยาบที่ปรากฏจากการประสานและแยกของทั้งสอง เรียกว่า “อธิภาวติกะ ปุรุษะ”.

The supreme controlling summum bonum is the Personality of Godhead in His plenary portion of Paramātmā, or the Supersoul manifestation. In the Bhagavad-gītā (10.42) it is said:

This verse explains that the one Puruṣa (Supreme Person) is understood in three relations: as the indwelling Self (ādhyātmika), as the presiding divine principle (ādhidaivika), and as His manifestation connected with the physical/embodied plane (ādhibhautika).
