Kṛṣṇa Visits Indraprastha; Kuntī’s Remembrance; Kālindī and Further Marriages
tataḥ prītaḥ sutāṁ rājā dadau kṛṣṇāya vismitaḥ tāṁ pratyagṛhṇād bhagavān vidhi-vat sadṛśīṁ prabhuḥ
The word sadṛśīm indicates that the lovely princess was a fitting bride for the Lord because she possessed wonderful transcendental qualities that complemented His. As Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī points out, the word vismitaḥ indicates that King Nagnajit was certainly astonished at the many extraordinary events suddenly taking place in his life.
This verse shows that even Bhagavān Kṛṣṇa accepts a bride “vidhivat”—according to proper rites—highlighting dharma and sanctified conduct within His līlā.
The king was pleased and astonished by Kṛṣṇa, and therefore offered his daughter in marriage; Kṛṣṇa accepted her as a fitting match in a lawful, dharmic manner.
Even in personal relationships and major life decisions, one should act with integrity and follow proper, respectful procedures—uniting devotion with responsible conduct.
