The Syamantaka Jewel: Accusation, Recovery, and Kṛṣṇa’s Marriage to Satyabhāmā
ṛkṣa-rāja-bilaṁ bhīmam andhena tamasāvṛtam eko viveśa bhagavān avasthāpya bahiḥ prajāḥ
In Canto 10, Chapter 56, this verse describes Śrī Kṛṣṇa entering the fearsome, dark cave of Jāmbavān alone, while keeping His companions outside—showing His fearless, purposeful action in His divine līlā.
Kṛṣṇa went alone to pursue the matter directly and avoid endangering others, demonstrating leadership and protection of His people while personally confronting the source of the conflict.
A devotee can learn steadiness and faith: when faced with “darkness” (confusion, fear, adversity), one should proceed with clarity of purpose, responsibility, and remembrance that the Lord ultimately guides and protects.
