Uddhava Meets the Gopīs: Bhramara-gītā and Kṛṣṇa’s Message of Separation
vande nanda-vraja-strīṇāṁ pāda-reṇum abhīkṣṇaśaḥ yāsāṁ hari-kathodgītaṁ punāti bhuvana-trayam
Śrī Uddhava, having established the glories of the gopīs in the previous verses, now directly offers his obeisances to them. According to the Śrī Vaiṣṇava-toṣaṇī, Śrī Uddhava did not offer such respect even to Lord Kṛṣṇa’s queens in Dvārakā.
This verse declares that even the dust of the gopīs’ feet is worshipable, because their Hari-kathā—sung in pure love—purifies all three worlds.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī praises the Nanda-vraja-strīḥ (the gopīs), presenting their devotion and Krishna-centered speech as supremely purifying.
Make regular time to hear, chant, or sing authentic narrations of Śrī Kṛṣṇa; the verse teaches that Krishna-kathā itself is a powerful purifier for one’s mind and life.
