पृथिवीं त्वा पृथिव्यामा वेशयामि देवो नो धाता प्र तिरात्यायुः । परापरैता वसुविद् वो अस्त्वधा मृताः पितृषु सं भवन्तु

IAST Transliteration

pṛthivī́ṃ tvā pṛthivyā́m ā́ veśayāmi devó no dhātā́ prá tirāty ā́yuḥ | párāparaitā́ vasuvíd vo astv ádhā mṛtā́ḥ pitṛ́ṣu sáṃ bhavantu ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Into Earth, within the Earth, I lay thee down. May Dhātṛ, the God, for us prolong the life. Let this thy passing hence and thither be wealth-finding for you; and then let the dead be gathered wholly among the Fathers.

Translation

ข้าพเจ้าวางท่านลงสู่แผ่นดิน ภายในแผ่นดินนี้ ขอธาตฤ (Dhātṛ) เทพผู้ทรงกำหนด จงยืดอายุให้แก่เรา ขอให้การผ่านไปนี้—ไปและกลับ (ปรา–อปรา)—เป็นการค้นพบทรัพย์แก่พวกท่าน; แล้วขอให้ผู้ตายทั้งหลายถูกรวบรวมโดยสิ้นเชิงไปอยู่ท่ามกลางเหล่าปิตฤ (บรรพชน)
