Sukta 17
तस्य॒ व्रात्य॑स्य । स॒मा॒नमर्थं॒ परि॑ यन्ति दे॒वाः सं॑वत्स॒रं वा ए॒तदृ॒तवो॑ऽनु॒परि॑यन्ति॒ व्रात्यं॑ च
tásya vrā́tyasya | samānám árthaṃ pári yanti devā́ḥ saṃvatsaráṃ vā́ etád ṛtávo ’nu páriyanti vrā́tyaṃ ca
Of that Vrātya: the Gods move in circuit with one and the same intent. For this, verily, is the Year: the Seasons, in ordered succession, go round about both the Vrātya and the Year.
ว่าด้วยวราตยะ (Vrātya) นั้น—เหล่าเทพเจ้าพากันเวียนรอบด้วยเจตนาเดียวกัน. แท้จริงนี่เองคือ “ปี”; ฤดูกาลทั้งหลาย (ṛtu) ดำเนินตามลำดับอันเป็นระเบียบ เวียนรอบทั้งวราตยะและปีไปพร้อมกัน.
