FAQs

Ayurvedic dietetics (pathya) for arśas: it specifies beneficial foods and adjuncts—barley preparations, black gram, greens, sauvarcala salt, śaṭī, pathyā/harītakī, plus maṇḍa (rice gruel) and takra (buttermilk) taken with water.

It shows the text functioning beyond mythology by preserving practical clinical guidance—diet and simple formulations for a defined disorder (hemorrhoids)—illustrating the Agni Purana’s wide coverage of Ayurveda alongside other sciences.

By prescribing sāttvika, regulated diet and wholesome regimen for disease management, it supports bodily purity and stability, which traditional dharma frameworks treat as supportive conditions for sustained sādhana, duty, and disciplined living.
