Related Themes: Agni Purana: Puja-vidhi chapters on mandapa-lakṣaṇa, dīkṣā, mṛṣṭi-mantra, and śiva-pūjā (as referenced by the note)
It introduces Gaurī-pratiṣṭhā (consecration/installation) and indicates the ritual sequence: first establish the maṇḍapa and preliminaries, then raise and install the deity/seat, followed by worship.
It exemplifies the Purana’s manual-like coverage of applied ritual technology—temple/pavilion setup (maṇḍapa), consecration (pratiṣṭhā), and worship—alongside awareness of variant readings preserved in different manuscripts.
Correct sequencing in maṇḍapa preparation and deity installation is treated as essential for ritual purity and efficacy, ensuring the worship yields intended merit (puṇya) and proper sanctification of the sacred space.
