Related Themes: Agni Purana 93 (bali, dik-devatā appeasement, vāstu-related rites)
It prescribes direction-specific bali offerings: to Aryaman in the south (pūpa with kṛsara) and to Jambhaka in the Varuṇic/watery quarter (meat with blood), showing how offerings vary by deity/being and spatial quarter.
By cataloging precise ritual logistics—who receives offerings, what items are appropriate, and where (by direction/domain)—it functions as a practical handbook of pūjā and bali procedures alongside the Purana’s many other disciplines.
Correctly assigning offerings by deity and direction is taught as a means to maintain ritual order (ṛta), appease the relevant powers, and avert obstacles, thereby supporting purification and auspicious results for the practitioner.
