FAQs

It prescribes a Vāstu-śānti/construction-commencement step: worship Śiva in a pūrṇakumbha placed in the Īśāna (NE) sector, then asperse the digging/construction tools with the kumbha-water to consecrate and purify them for work.

Beyond theology, it records applied ritual-technology for architecture and building practice—directional placement (Īśāna), site-deity worship (Vāstu), and implement consecration—showing the Purāṇa’s coverage of practical disciplines like Vāstu-vidyā alongside devotion.

By honoring Śiva and the Vāstu spirit and ritually purifying the tools, the act sacralizes construction, removes obstacles/inauspiciousness, and frames the work as dhārmic action undertaken with purity and divine permission.
