FAQs

It teaches a specific ritual sequence: recite an Astra-protection mantra (oṃ haḥ astrāya hūṃ phaṭ), invoke Hṛdeśvara (āvāhana), perform pūjā and tarpana, and then offer the prescribed śulka (ritual fee/tribute) according to rule.

By recording procedural liturgy—mantras, deity-invocation, worship steps, libation-rites, and even the protocol of offering fees—this chapter functions like a compact ritual manual embedded within a Purāṇa.

Correct invocation with protective mantra, followed by worship and satiating offerings, is presented as a disciplined way to remove obstacles, properly honor the deity, and accrue merit through rule-based (vidhāna) devotion and right giving.
