Concept: Dīkṣā as śakti-saṅkramaṇa: mantra and ritual gesture catalyze inner awakening (caitanya) and reconfiguration of the aspirant’s psycho-spiritual field.
Application: In initiations, use a clearly demarcated ‘activation’ moment (tāḍana + phaṭ) followed by guided stabilization (caitanya-vibhāga) to integrate the experience and avoid ritual discontinuity.

It teaches a mantra-prayoga used in initiation/empowerment: after invocation and worship, the officiant performs a ritual tap/strike on the disciple’s chest while reciting bīja-syllables and “phaṭ,” to effect śakti-praveśa (mantric entry/activation) and awaken caitanya (conscious awareness) in the disciple.
Beyond mythology, the Agni Purana preserves procedural ritual technology—mantra mechanics (bīja, phaṭ), initiation-style actions, and consciousness-activation concepts—showing its coverage of practical liturgy and tantric-ritual method alongside other sciences and arts.
The act is framed as a sanctifying empowerment: the disciple is ritually prepared and ‘animated’ through mantra, aiming at inner purification, eligibility for worship/mantra practice, and the awakening of disciplined spiritual awareness (caitanya).
