FAQs

It teaches the protocol for beginning an occasional rite (naimittika): first complete the two daily obligatory duties, enter the yajña pavilion, perform ācāmana, and then execute the naimittika procedure following the same disciplined pattern as nitya observances.

By codifying practical ritual workflow—daily duties, purification (ācāmana), and the transition into occasion-based rites—it preserves Dharma-śāstra-like operational guidance alongside the Purana’s wider coverage of worship, law, polity, and other sciences.

It emphasizes purity and continuity of discipline: aligning naimittika rites with nitya standards ensures correct performance (vidhi), supports inner and outer purification, and safeguards the intended religious merit of the sacrifice.
