Chapter 81 — समयदीक्षाविधानम्
Procedure for Samaya Initiation
प्रथमन्तां समादाय कुम्भस्याग्राभिगामिनीं अविच्छिन्नपयोधरां भ्रामयित्वा प्रदक्षिणं
prathamantāṃ samādāya kumbhasyāgrābhigāminīṃ avicchinnapayodharāṃ bhrāmayitvā pradakṣiṇaṃ

Concept: Unbroken continuity (avicchinna) in offering and attention is itself a ritual power; clockwise circumambulation affirms alignment with dharma and cosmic rhythm.
Application: When doing pradakṣiṇā, avoid breaking the stream or losing orientation; move steadily clockwise, keeping mind and gesture continuous to ‘seal’ the rite.

Related Themes: Agni Purana 81 (post-dikpāla worship circumambulation and completion acts)
It prescribes a precise ritual action: maintaining an uninterrupted liquid offering (a continuous libation/flow) oriented toward the kumbha’s front while performing clockwise turning/circumambulation (pradakṣiṇā).
By recording granular procedural details of worship—directionality, continuity of offering, and circumambulation mechanics—it functions as a practical ritual manual alongside the Purana’s many other subject domains.
Clockwise pradakṣiṇā with an unbroken offering stream signifies steadiness of devotion and ritual purity, traditionally held to enhance merit (puṇya) and sanctify the worship space and performer.
