It teaches a practical sequence in Ravi-pūjā: ritually encircling the worship space with threads, offering gandha and related upacāras to the Sun, then performing ācamana, nyāsa, and arghya as formal purificatory and consecratory steps.
Beyond mythic narration, it preserves precise, step-by-step liturgical technique—covering space-preparation (sūtra-veṣṭana), offerings (gandhādi), and mantra-ritual technologies (nyāsa, arghya, ācamana)—showing the Agni Purana’s wide scope as a manual of applied religious practice.
The acts of ācamana and nyāsa purify and sacralize the worshipper and rite, while arghya to Ravi is a meritorious daily offering associated with cleansing impurities and strengthening dharmic discipline through orderly, correct worship.
