Alamkara Type: Dṛṣṭānta/कल्पना (cosmic visualization)
Concept: Ritual space is cosmologized: the reservoir becomes a brahmāṇḍa-analogue; Varuṇa is contemplated as immanent order within waters.
Application: Use for water-consecration rites, establishing a sanctified tank for abhiṣeka supply, śānti sprinkling, or vrata-related snāna.
Khanda Section: Puja-vidhi (Jala-nyasa / Varuna-upasana and ritual deposition in water)
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Type: Tirtha
Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"At a sacred tank, a priest discreetly places a consecrated object at the center; after bathing, he meditates on Varuṇa and envisions the brahmāṇḍa as a luminous cosmic egg above the waters.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural: broad water-tank with lotus motifs, priest waist-deep placing a small wrapped object at center, then seated in meditation; above, a glowing brahmāṇḍa-oval and Varuṇa’s presence suggested by wave-pattern aura.","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore: stylized temple tank with gold-highlighted ripples, priest offering at center, Varuṇa icon in upper register, brahmāṇḍa as jeweled oval with gold embossing.","mysore_prompt":"Mysore: clear narrative panels—(1) nikṣepa in tank center (2) snāna (3) Varuṇa + brahmāṇḍa dhyāna—fine outlines, readable ritual steps, gentle colors.","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature: landscaped pond with central point marked by subtle ripple, priest bathing and meditating on bank, translucent cosmic egg motif in sky, meticulous flora and architectural details."}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: ध्यायेच्च = ध्यायेत् + च; ब्रह्माण्डसञ्ज्ञिकां = ब्रह्माण्ड + सञ्ज्ञिकाम्

It gives a practical water-rite: conceal and deposit the ritual item in the center of a water-body, then perform purification by bathing and complete the act with Varuṇa-dhyāna and Brahmāṇḍa (cosmic) contemplation.
The verse fuses applied ritual engineering (where and how to place an object in water), purity protocol (snāna), deity-upāsanā (Varuṇa), and cosmological doctrine (Brahmāṇḍa-sṛṣṭi), exemplifying the Agni Purana’s mix of ritual manuals and worldview teachings.
Bathing and meditating on Varuṇa—guardian of waters and ṛta (cosmic order)—frames the act as purification and alignment with cosmic order, while Brahmāṇḍa-dhyāna sacralizes the rite by linking it to universal creation.
