FAQs

It gives pratishṭhā guidance: Viṣṇu’s image may be ritually installed not only in a formal temple (prāsāda) but also in a house shrine or a consecrated maṇḍapa, specifying acceptable Vaiṣṇava forms (Vāmana, Vaikuṇṭha, Hayagrīva, Aniruddha).

By cataloging practical installation options (temple/house/mandapa) and enumerating multiple theological-iconographic forms of Viṣṇu, it integrates ritual procedure, sacred architecture usage, and sectarian iconography—typical of the Agni Purana’s broad, manual-like coverage.

Installing Viṣṇu in a properly sanctified space establishes a stable locus for daily worship (nitya-pūjā), supporting purification, devotion (bhakti), and merit (puṇya) through sustained, correctly oriented ritual practice.
