Concept: Adhyayana is framed as upāsanā: the text is not merely read but ritually approached, beginning and ending with reverence to seal intention and merit.
Application: Adopt a ‘study liturgy’: clean place, respectful storage, opening/closing salutations and brief pūjā to cultivate steadiness and humility in learning.

Related Themes: Agni Purana 63 (granthapūjā and adhyayana-vidhi)
It teaches pustaka-pūjā as part of adhyayana-vidhi: place the text in a clean, honored spot (home or temple), keep it respectfully covered (e.g., with cloth), and perform reverential worship at the start and conclusion of recitation.
Beyond theology, it preserves practical liturgical protocol—how texts are physically handled, installed, and ritually honored—showing the Agni Purana’s coverage of real-world religious procedure alongside broader knowledge systems.
Treating the scripture as a sacred presence cultivates śraddhā (reverence) and ritual purity, framing study as worship; honoring the text before and after recitation is presented as a merit-producing, sanctifying discipline.
