Concept: Ritual fitness (yogyatā) of form: craft must anticipate consecration requirements.
Application: When designing pedestal/base, include functional features required by installation rites, not merely visual symmetry.

Related Themes: Agni Purana 55 (Pratiṣṭhā-vidhi adjacent instructions)
It gives procedural guidance for icon-making and consecration: remaining components must be made individually, and required installation-openings (pratiṣṭhā-nirgama) along with pedestal elements (paṭṭikā, piṇḍikā) are to be provided even for standard icons.
Beyond mythic narrative, it preserves practical temple-technology: standardized terminology for icon parts and the engineering/ritual requirements of installation, aligning the Purana with śilpa-śāstra and vastu-oriented manuals.
Correct construction and proper consecration details are treated as safeguards for ritual efficacy—ensuring the deity’s installation is valid, stable, and spiritually ‘fit’ for worship, thereby supporting merit (puṇya) for patrons and priests.
