इत्य् आदिमहापुराणे आग्नेये प्रासादलक्षणं नाम द्वाचत्त्वारिंशो ऽध्यायः अथ त्रिचत्वारिंशो ऽध्यायः प्रासाददेवतास्थापनं भगवानुवाच प्रासादे देवताः स्थाप्या वक्ष्ये ब्रह्मन् शृणुष्व मे पञ्चायतमध्ये तु वासुदेवं निवेशयेत्
ity ādimahāpurāṇe āgneye prāsādalakṣaṇaṃ nāma dvācattvāriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ atha tricatvāriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ prāsādadevatāsthāpanaṃ bhagavānuvāca prāsāde devatāḥ sthāpyā vakṣye brahman śṛṇuṣva me pañcāyatamadhye tu vāsudevaṃ niveśayet
ดังนี้ ในอาทิมหาปุราณะ ภาคอาคเนยะ (อัคนีปุราณะ) บทที่ ๔๒ ชื่อ “ลักษณะของปราสาท (ปราสาทลักษณะ)” ได้สิ้นสุดลงแล้ว. บัดนี้เริ่มบทที่ ๔๓ คือ “การสถาปนาเทวะในปราสาท”. พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสว่า: “ควรสถาปนาเทวะทั้งหลายไว้ในปราสาท; โอ พราหมณ์ จงฟัง เราจักกล่าววิธี. ในกลางผังปัญจายตนะ พึงประดิษฐานวาสุเทวะ.”
