Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Nyāsa–Pratiṣṭhā–Sannibodhana and Homa for Dvāra-devatā & Upakaraṇa-devatā","lookup_keywords":["nyāsa","sannibodhana","dvāra-devatā","homa-āhuti-saṅkhyā","sarvapuṣkala"],"quick_summary":"After nyāsa and installation, the invoked powers are ‘awakened’ (sannibodhana) and oblations are offered by name to door-attendants and ritual supports; the count is adjusted (50/100/200) according to capacity while keeping the rite complete (sarvapuṣkala)."}
Concept: Devata-caitanya is invoked, installed, and awakened through ordered saṃskāra; śakti is stabilized by completeness (sarvapuṣkala) and disciplined counts.
Application: Maintain ritual integrity: do nyāsa → pratiṣṭhā → sannibodhana; then offer name-specific āhutis with feasible but rule-bound counts.
Khanda Section: Pūjā-vidhi / Homa-prayoga (Agneya-vidyā: ritual installation and fire-offering procedure)
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: śānta
Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A ritualist completes nyāsa, installs and ‘awakens’ invoked deities, then offers measured oblations to door-guardian deities and consecrated supports like couch/seat, calling each by name; a fire-altar with ladle, ghee, and arranged ritual items is central.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala temple mural style, warm earthy palette, priest performing nyāsa and sannibodhana before a blazing homa-kuṇḍa, dvāra-devatā as guardian figures flanking a stylized gateway, ritual supports (āsana/talpa) shown as consecrated objects, intricate floral borders, sacred calm.","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting with gold leaf, central homa fire and priest, ornate gateway with two guardian deities, labeled ritual supports (āsana/talpa) as auspicious objects, rich reds and greens, heavy jewelry on deities, embossed gold highlights on flames and ornaments.","mysore_prompt":"Mysore painting style, clean linework, instructional composition: sequence panels showing nyāsa → pratiṣṭhā → sannibodhana → 100 āhutis, with small captions, detailed homa implements (sruk, sruva, ājyapātra), soft pastel background.","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature, courtly precision: a yajamāna and purohita at a square fire-altar, attendants holding offerings, architectural gateway with guardian figures, careful depiction of counting āhutis (tally beads/marks), fine textiles and patterned carpets."}
Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"instructional","suggested_raga":"Bhairav","pace":"medium","voice_tone":"instructional"}
Sandhi Resolution Notes: juhuyācchatamardhaṃ → juhuyāt śatam ardham; śaktitothavā → śaktitaḥ atha vā; dvārāśritāṃś → dvāra-āśritān (acc.pl.); gandhi markers like ‘iti kha/ja/ga/gha’ treated as editorial and not analyzed.
Related Themes: Agni Purana 100 (Dvāra-pratiṣṭhā and associated homa); Agni Purana 101 (Prāsāda-pratiṣṭhā preliminaries: nyāsa/yantra/kumbha)
It gives a homa-prayoga detail: after nyāsa and installation/awakening of the invoked powers, one should offer oblations while naming the doorway-associated deities and related ritual stations (like the talpa), with the offering-count adjusted to capacity (50/100/200).
It preserves procedural micro-instructions typical of ritual handbooks—nyāsa, deity-awakening, invocation by specific names, and flexible oblation counts—showing the Purana’s coverage beyond narrative into practical liturgy.
Correct installation, awakening, and duly-numbered offerings are presented as completing the rite (sarvapuṣkala), ensuring ritual efficacy and the purificatory merit (puṇya) associated with well-performed homa.
