Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Mantra","secondary_vidya":"Tantra","practical_application":"Aṅga-nyāsa/chakra-nyāsa for protection and empowerment: placing bīja/mantra segments at sahasrāra, heart, śikhā, kavaca, and eyes as part of a ritual sequence.","sutra_style":true}

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Aṅga-nyāsa with cakra-mantras (sahasrāra–hṛdaya–śikhā–kavaca–netra)","lookup_keywords":["aṅga-nyāsa","sahasrāra","kavaca","netra-mantra","cakra-mantra"],"quick_summary":"The verse outlines a placement-sequence of mantras/bījas across bodily loci (crown, heart, tuft, armor, eyes) using utterances like hūṃ, phaṭ, svāhā, and Śiva for protective consecration."}

Concept: Deha as mantra-adhāra: the body is treated as a mandala where śakti is installed through nyāsa; protection (kavaca) arises from correct placement and utterance.

Application: Use as a step-by-step nyāsa script before japa/homa/abhicāra: touch sahasrāra, heart, śikhā, limbs (kavaca), and eyes while reciting the specified mantras.

Khanda Section: Mantra-vidhi (Tantric Anga-nyasa & Chakra-mantras)

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A sādhaka performs nyāsa: touching crown, heart, topknot, arms/torso as armor, and eyes, with subtle chakra-lotus motifs glowing at each point.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural: frontal sādhaka with stylized lotus at sahasrāra, glowing heart-lotus, śikhā flame motif, protective aura around torso (kavaca), highlighted eyes; restrained sacred palette.","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore: gold-leaf lotuses at crown and heart, ornate halo, symmetrical composition, inscriptions of hūṃ/phaṭ/svāhā around the figure, devotional-protective feel.","mysore_prompt":"Mysore: diagrammatic clarity—body with marked loci (sahasrāra, hṛdaya, śikhā, kavaca region, netra), each with the corresponding mantra syllables; elegant lines and soft colors.","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature: intimate indoor scene of a yogin performing touches to head and chest, with faint luminous lotuses painted as delicate overlays; manuscript-illustration aesthetic."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"contemplative","suggested_raga":"Yaman","pace":"slow","voice_tone":"instructional"}

FAQs

It teaches a protection-oriented mantra-nyāsa sequence: assigning specific mantric utterances (phaṭ, hūṁ phaṭ, svāhā, and ‘Śiva’) to the sahasrāra (crown), heart, śikhā (crest), kavaca (armor), and netra (eyes) as part of a chakra-based protective rite.

Beyond myth and theology, it preserves a practical ritual-technology—coded mantra terms, chakra/anga placements, and sealing formulas—showing the Agni Purana functioning as a manual of applied liturgy and protective Tantra alongside its other sciences.

The rite is framed as purification and protection: mantra-nyāsa ‘armors’ the practitioner’s body and senses, wards obstacles (phaṭ), stabilizes inner power (hūṁ), and seals the act as sanctified offering (svāhā), supporting steadiness in worship and spiritual practice.
