Related Themes: Agni Purana 280.21 (five preparations); Agni Purana 280.22 (definitions of preparations)
It defines the Ayurvedic dosage-form phāṇṭa as a quickly boiled-and-filtered preparation, and it records a traditional enumeration of karaṇas (a standardized count used for measures/operations in this section).
By giving precise technical definitions and numerical standards for medicinal preparation and measurement, it shows the text functioning as a compendium that includes practical Ayurveda alongside religious and mythic content.
Though primarily medical, the emphasis on purification (pūta—strained/clean) aligns with the broader Purāṇic ethic that correct, purified preparation supports health and sattvic order, indirectly aiding dharma through bodily well-being.
