गोदावर्य्यां भवेत्पुण्यं वसतो वर्षसंख्यया । तत्फलं समवाप्नोति गोमतीसेवनाद्द्विजाः
godāvaryyāṃ bhavetpuṇyaṃ vasato varṣasaṃkhyayā | tatphalaṃ samavāpnoti gomatīsevanāddvijāḥ
ఓ ద్విజులారా! గోదావరి తీరంలో ఎన్నో సంవత్సరాలు నివసించడం వల్ల కలిగే పుణ్యం, అదే ఫలం పవిత్ర గోమతీని భక్తితో సేవించడంవల్ల మాత్రమే లభిస్తుంది.
