सूत उवाच । इंद्रेण स्थापितः पूर्वमेष देवो द्विजोत्तमाः । कपालेश्वसंज्ञस्तु ब्रह्महत्या विमुक्तये
sūta uvāca | iṃdreṇa sthāpitaḥ pūrvameṣa devo dvijottamāḥ | kapāleśvasaṃjñastu brahmahatyā vimuktaye
సూతుడు పలికెను—హే ద్విజోత్తములారా! ఈ దేవుడు పూర్వము ఇంద్రునిచే స్థాపింపబడెను. ఇతడు ‘కపాలేశ్వర’ అని ప్రసిద్ధుడు; బ్రహ్మహత్యా పాపవిముక్తికై పూజ్యుడు.
