मृकण्ड उवाच । कस्मात्त्वं विप्रशार्दूल वीक्ष्येमं मम दारकम् । सुचिरं विस्मयाविष्टस्ततोऽभूः सस्मिताननः
mṛkaṇḍa uvāca | kasmāttvaṃ vipraśārdūla vīkṣyemaṃ mama dārakam | suciraṃ vismayāviṣṭastato'bhūḥ sasmitānanaḥ
మృకండు అన్నాడు—ఓ విప్రశార్దూలా! నా ఈ బాలుణ్ని చూసి నీవు ఎందుకు చాలాసేపు ఆశ్చర్యావిష్టుడవై, తరువాత స్మితముఖుడవయ్యావు?
