सूत उवाच । पुरासीन्नागरो विप्रश्छांदोग्य इति विश्रुतः । यस्याऽन्वयेऽपि विप्रेन्द्राश्छान्दोग्या इति विश्रुताः
sūta uvāca | purāsīnnāgaro vipraśchāṃdogya iti viśrutaḥ | yasyā'nvaye'pi viprendrāśchāndogyā iti viśrutāḥ
సూతుడు పలికెను—పూర్వకాలంలో ‘ఛాందోగ్య’ అని ప్రసిద్ధుడైన ఒక నాగర బ్రాహ్మణుడు ఉండెను. అతని వంశంలోనూ అగ్ర బ్రాహ్మణులు ‘ఛాందోగ్య’ అనే పేరుతోనే ఖ్యాతి పొందిరి.
