yadi pṛcchasi me bhūpa kanyādharmapatiṃ prati | tannaiṣā kasyaciddeyā sāṃprataṃ śṛṇu kāraṇam

హే భూపా! నీ కుమార్తెకు ధర్మసమ్మత భర్త ఎవరో నన్ను అడుగుచున్నావా? అయితే వినుము—ప్రస్తుతం ఆమెను ఎవరికీ ఇవ్వకూడదు. ఇప్పుడు కారణం వినుము.
