शेषाः सर्वे गतिभ्रंशं प्राप्य भूमार्गमाश्रिताः । अथ ते स्वाश्रमं दृष्ट्वा विकृताकारभूषणम् । किमिदंकिमिदं प्रोचुर्यत्तापस्यो विडंबिताः
śeṣāḥ sarve gatibhraṃśaṃ prāpya bhūmārgamāśritāḥ | atha te svāśramaṃ dṛṣṭvā vikṛtākārabhūṣaṇam | kimidaṃkimidaṃ procuryattāpasyo viḍaṃbitāḥ
మిగిలినవారంతా గతిభ్రంశము పొందీ భూమార్గమును ఆశ్రయించిరి. తరువాత తమ ఆశ్రమము వికృతరూపముగా మారి, వికారమైన ‘ఆభరణాలతో’ అలంకరింపబడినదిగా చూచి, వారు మళ్లీ మళ్లీ—“ఇది ఏమిటి, ఇది ఏమిటి?” అని పలికిరి; తాపసస్త్రీలు అవమానింపబడిరి గనుక.
