ततः पित्रा चिरं स्मृत्वा चिरं चाघ्राय मूर्धनि । चिरं दोर्भ्यां परिष्वज्य चिरंजीवेत्यु दाहृतः
tataḥ pitrā ciraṃ smṛtvā ciraṃ cāghrāya mūrdhani | ciraṃ dorbhyāṃ pariṣvajya ciraṃjīvetyu dāhṛtaḥ
అనంతరం తండ్రి అతనిని దీర్ఘకాలం తలచి, దీర్ఘంగా తలపై వాసన చూసి, రెండు భుజాలతో చాలాసేపు ఆలింగనం చేసి—“చిరంజీవిగా ఉండు!” అని పలికాడు।
