ततः सर्वानपृच्छत्स कुलं कोऽपि न वेद तत् । ततो विष्णुरिदं प्राह पृछ्यंतेऽन्ये किमर्थतः
tataḥ sarvānapṛcchatsa kulaṃ ko'pi na veda tat | tato viṣṇuridaṃ prāha pṛchyaṃte'nye kimarthataḥ
అప్పుడు అతడు అందరినీ (వరుని) వంశం గురించి అడిగెను; కాని ఎవరికీ అది తెలియలేదు। అప్పుడు విష్ణువు ఇలా అన్నాడు: “ఇతరులను అడగడం ఎందుకు, దాని ప్రయోజనం ఏమిటి?”
