अग्निरूपेण तस्याश्च स ददाह महाश्रमम् । चकर्ष वायुरूपेण महोग्रेण च तां शुभाम् । एवं सिहवृकाद्याभिर्भीषिकाभिः पुनःपुनः
agnirūpeṇa tasyāśca sa dadāha mahāśramam | cakarṣa vāyurūpeṇa mahogreṇa ca tāṃ śubhām | evaṃ sihavṛkādyābhirbhīṣikābhiḥ punaḥpunaḥ
అగ్నిరూపముతో అతడు ఆమె మహాశ్రమాన్ని దహించాడు; మహోఘ్రమైన వాయురూపముతో ఆ శుభాంగిని లాగి తీసుకెళ్లాడు. ఈ విధంగా సింహం, తోడేలు మొదలైన భయంకర విభీషికలతో మళ్లీ మళ్లీ ఆమె సంకల్పాన్ని కదిలించేందుకు యత్నించాడు।
