Transliteration

tadadattā kathaṃ svairamahamanyaṃ varaṃ vṛṇe | vṛtopi na kulīnaścedguṇavānna ca śīlavān

Translation

“నన్ను (వివాహంగా) అప్పగించనే లేదు కదా; అప్పుడు నేను స్వేచ్ఛగా ఇంకొక వరుణ్ని ఎలా ఎంచుకోగలను? ఎంచుకున్నా ఏమి ప్రయోజనం—అతడు కులీనుడు కాకపోతే, గుణవంతుడు కాకపోతే, శీలవంతుడు కాకపోతే?”
