Transliteration

brāhmaṇā ūcuḥ | upāste yaśca likhitaṃ raktapādaistu vāḍavāḥ | jñātiśreṣṭhaḥ sa vijñeyo valirdeyastataḥ param

Translation

బ్రాహ్మణులు అన్నారు—వాడవులు రక్తపాదములతో (ఎర్ర పాదచిహ్నాలతో) వ్రాసిన ఆ లేఖ్యాన్ని ఎవడు ఉపాసిస్తాడో, అతడే కులంలో శ్రేష్ఠుడని తెలుసుకోవాలి; ఆపై బలి (అర్పణ) ఇవ్వాలి।
