Transliteration

vyāsa uvāca | yadā saṃjñā ca rājeṃdra sūryārthaṃṃ caikacetasā | tepe bakulavṛkṣādhaḥ patyustejaḥ praśāṃ taye

Translation

వ్యాసుడు పలికెను—ఓ రాజేంద్రా, సంజ్ఞ సూర్యుని హితార్థమై ఏకాగ్రచిత్తముతో బకులవృక్షం క్రింద తపస్సు చేసినప్పుడు, అది తన భర్త యొక్క దహించే తేజస్సును శాంతింపజేయుటకే.
