एष ते नृप जामाता चंद्रांगद महाबलः । अस्य वंशमथोत्पत्तिं श्रोतुमिच्छामि तत्त्वतः
eṣa te nṛpa jāmātā caṃdrāṃgada mahābalaḥ | asya vaṃśamathotpattiṃ śrotumicchāmi tattvataḥ
‘హే మహాబలవంతుడైన రాజా చంద్రాంగదా! ఇతడు ఇప్పుడు నీ అల్లుడు. ఇతని వంశమును, జన్మవృత్తాంతమును తత్త్వంగా వినాలని నేను కోరుతున్నాను.’
