Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Sthala Purana: Not tied to a Jyotirliṅga; it universalizes the prior claim: all siddhāntas (doctrinal systems) remain in dispute until Śiva Purāṇa’s authoritative teaching appears, functioning as a grace-bestowing clarification.
Significance: Positions the Purāṇa as a ‘jñāna-tīrtha’: approaching it is akin to pilgrimage to a place of right discernment (viveka) that pacifies sectarian quarrel.
Role: teaching
Cosmic Event: Epistemic disorder (kalaha) among siddhāntas; resolution through anugraha as śāstra-prakāśa (manifestation of teaching).
It declares that confusion and sectarian debate persist until Śiva’s own Purāṇic revelation becomes known; the Śiva Purāṇa is presented as a clarifying light that establishes right understanding of Pati (Śiva) and the path to liberation.
In the Vidyeśvara context, the Purāṇa’s “arising” implies the restoration of authentic Śiva-upāsanā—especially Linga worship as the accessible Saguna support through which the seeker approaches the Nirguna reality of Śiva.
The practical takeaway is to ground one’s sādhanā in Śaiva scripture—regular listening/recitation (śravaṇa, pāṭha) of the Śiva Purāṇa along with steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” rather than getting lost in mere debate.
