Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: The verse generalizes the narrated ‘svāvatāra’ (self-manifest descent) as a grace-bestowing episode; not tied here to a specific jyotirliṅga site in this excerpt.
Significance: Śravaṇa (hearing) of the svāvatāra-kathā is itself framed as a tīrtha-like merit: it yields lasting ānanda and intensifies Śiva-bhakti.
Role: liberating
It concludes an avatāra-narration by emphasizing its fruit: steady inner bliss (sadānanda) and the growth of śivabhakti, which in Shaiva Siddhānta becomes a direct means for grace and liberation.
By praising Shiva’s self-manifest descent, it supports saguna-upāsanā—devotional worship of Shiva in approachable form—while pointing to the inner result of that worship: abiding bliss and deepened devotion, which also culminates in realization of the supreme Shiva beyond form.
The practical takeaway is to cultivate śivabhakti through regular Shiva worship—especially japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and daily remembrance—so the narrated līlā becomes a living support for sustained inner joy.
