Śiva–Arjuna Yuddha and the Subjugation of Pride (Śiva-parīkṣā)
शिवं परं च सन्तुष्टम्पाण्डवाः सर्व एव हि । नातृप्यन्सर्ववृत्तान्तं श्रुत्वा हर्षमुपागताः
śivaṃ paraṃ ca santuṣṭampāṇḍavāḥ sarva eva hi | nātṛpyansarvavṛttāntaṃ śrutvā harṣamupāgatāḥ
పాండవులందరూ పరమశివుని యందు పూర్తిగా సంతుష్టులే; అయినా సమస్త వృత్తాంతాన్ని విని తృప్తి చెందక, మరింత హర్షంతో నిండిపోయారు।

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
It teaches that true contentment is found in the Supreme Śiva, yet Śiva-kathā (hearing Śiva’s deeds and forms) increases devotional bliss; the heart is satisfied in Pati, while devotion still longs to hear more.
The verse reflects the Shaiva view that the Supreme (Para) Śiva is realized through grace, while His narrated forms and deeds (saguṇa expressions) nourish bhakti—just as Linga-worship gives a tangible focus for the transcendent Lord.
Regular śravaṇa (listening/recitation) of Śiva Purāṇa along with japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—is implied as a direct way to cultivate joy and steady devotion.
